Recently, I read an article in the NY Times about two new picture book biographies on Jane Goodall. One of my cousins spent two years in northern Thailand studying troops of chimpanzees and has actually met Jane Goodall. I knew one of these books would turn out to be a great Christmas present for her.
I ended up choosing Me…Jane by Patrick McDonnell. Visually, it is a striking and intricate, yet accessible to children which all picture books should strive to be.
